Engineer - Design Engineer Medical Device (Spine)
Life Spine is
a high growth medical device manufacturer and direct marketer of orthopedics
& neurosurgical spine products. With proprietary product technologies,
we are seeking several Project Engineers – Mechanical Engineers
to cultivate the company’s spinal implant offering.
Description:
The Project Engineer - Design Engineer will work with a cross functional
team (surgeons, sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing) to
design innovative surgical implants and instrumentation. The PE will
assist with concept development, product design, validation and product
launch. Along with management and the engineering staff, the PE will
be responsible for various aspects of product development including
mechanical design, materials procurement, feasibility, prototype fabrication,
testing, surgeon product development meetings, wetlab testing, and product
launch. This is an opportunity for a creative, hardworking individual

lead a higher quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the mechanical design of various surgical implants and
instrumentation.
Generate solid models and design drawings/specifications. (Pro/Engineer
preferred, but not required).
Interface with vendors for critical component selection and tool qualification.
Interface with surgeon designers and marketing personnel.
Experience Level:
Minimum 3 years
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of product design experience including design for machining.
Prototyping experience (stereolithography).
3D CAD experience a must.
Experience in the medical device industry is desirable, but not required.
Requires a motivated individual that is able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and dynamic environment.
Education:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
